Hiking

Rushing waterfalls and roaring streams accompany you on this eleven-kilometer-long hike through the Black Forest. The premium trail starts at the August Euler Platz hiking car park on the Feldberg pass. If you don't have a car, you can easily reach the starting point by bus.

At the mountain rescue hut, you join the path and walk downhill to the Wiesenquelle. After about 100 meters, you leave this path and pass a meadow below the old ski jump. Soon you're hiking back into the forest and the character of the stream valley quickly changes to a wild, romantic gorge with steps and bridges. Not far now, you can already hear the Fahler waterfall - an impressive natural spectacle!

You hike down the valley towards Brandenberg across flower meadows and pastures. A little way behind the Hotel Waldeck, you turn left onto a narrow path that leads you down through the rustic Wolfsschlucht to Todtnau. You take a short detour across the market square, a good opportunity for a long break and a stop for refreshments.

Refreshed, you hike up the mountain, past the forest kindergarten and on the increasingly steep path until you hear the next waterfall roaring. Soon you are standing on the bridge in front of the largest cascade of the Todtnau waterfall and can feel the fine spray on your skin.

You hike the last stretch uphill via steps to the small climatic health resort of Todtnauberg, where the waterfall trail ends at the bus stop in front of the Hotel Sternen. Bus 7215 then takes you back to Todtnau and from there you take line 7300 back to the starting point.

Pale waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

A very beautiful waterfall in a beautiful landscape. Unlike the Todtnau Waterfall, this waterfall is rarely visited. We were able to enjoy the natural experience there entirely on our own. The water of the Rotenbach falls over 40 meters and falls in several stages (the upper one is 15 meters, the lower one is 10 meters) into the trough valley of the Schwarzald River Wiese.

Todtnau Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

It's a truly impressive natural spectacle to watch the water cascade 97 meters down. The waterfall can be viewed from two sides: above and below. From the top, towards Todtnau, the mountain isn't particularly crowded for parking, but you then have to climb the entire mountain (and waterfall) back up. It's very beautiful, but also strenuous. There are more parking spaces below, but they're also full, and you don't necessarily have to climb all the way up. But to each his own.

Very nice, varied path with beautiful paths, always along the Wiese river. Great gorges and water falls. Lonely because the weather was very changeable. Again and again, it was nice.

Nice, varied hike to two waterfalls that are well worth seeing. In between, a stop at the café in Todtnau.
At the end, take the bus back to the starting point.

The Todtnauer Wasserfallsteig is one of the classics in the Upper Black Forest and a new highlight has recently been added with the new Blackforestline suspension bridge at the Todtnauer waterfalls. A super varied hike :)

It starts in Feldberg (place). From there the path goes downhill for a long time. Again and again we have great views down into …

The reunion with the Black Forest was really good! Take a deep breath in the fresh mountain air.

A big thank you to my part-time hiking guide Wodi for the varied, eventful and adventurous hiking tour including funny moments, great conversations and quiet moments.

The start of this gourmet trail is Feldberg Hebehof. First it goes down a beautiful path through a gorge to the Fahler waterfall. Then continue on meadow paths to Todtnau. Here then through the very short but beautiful Wolf Gorge.
And now the really strenuous part of the hike begins. All altitude meters romp about on the last two kilometers. …

My biggest problem today was getting to the Feldberg, the bus drivers were on strike until 11 a.m. and the B317 at the Feldberg is being renovated.
I had to use my right lady and after a few minutes I had a ride.
The approximately 12-kilometer-long path leads from the Feldberg Pass to the Wiesequelle and from there down the …

What a wonderful hike. The Black Forest really surprised me. Plus, on hot days it's a really great hike - mostly in the shade and a lot by the water.

The Wasserfallsteig gourmet trail lives up to its name. Always along the water, it leads to the Fahler waterfall, which immediately amazes me.

Where exactly was the picture of the Wolfsschlucht taken. I've run the tour twice, but haven't discovered it.
