Trail Reviews

I wonder how many horses broke their legs...😜 (Very rubble everywhere) Very steep ascent and descent. However, the view at the top of the Art Plateau is amazing when the weather is good. Galatzo, Mayor, Massanella... and the view of Port de Soller and Deia was worth the effort.

A fantastic, exciting, and dreamy hike! Spectacular views, beautiful, rocky paths; we'd rate our fitness at 3 points! We're already quite athletic and fit, but we found the hike very challenging and strenuous. You should definitely be free from vertigo and not suffer from a fear of heights. Half of the route is in the blazing sun, so be sure to bring a hat and plenty to drink! It was 33 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, towards the end of the hike, about 1 to 1.5 hours, the path isn't so nice. It's a typically Mallorcan concrete path that descends steeply, and the leaves and scree make it very slippery and not very pleasant to walk on. About 6-7 km before Valdemossa, you can take a different path than the one indicated here on Komoot; simply follow the hiking signs towards Valdemossa. Our rating is: super top; Difficult, everything a hike should have: challenging, amazing views, great trail layout, rocky and challenging terrain. From us, 5*

Beautiful ride with stunning views. Good path but not well marked. The Komoot app is very useful

From Valldemossa it first went through olive groves, a forest with old charcoal burners, then very steeply up to almost 900 meters in altitude. From here the tour went along rocky, alpine-like paths along the ridge. Sage and intensely fragrant rosemary grew almost everywhere up there. You had a view down to the clouds, the sea and the coast. Simply fabulous! On the other side you could see Palma and the cruise ships lying there. Simply fantastic views! The descent was uncomfortable on slippery, stony ground, but the tour was still great. Then we went on a short tour of the old town of Valldemossa. Here the restaurants were also open around 5 p.m., which is rather unusual for Spain.

A really nice spot on which we hiked today. A shady ascent and descent and plenty of sun in between with two beautiful mountains Puig Gros (938m) and Caragoli (944m) connected via a fantastically beautiful ridge path with brilliant views. You don't need a permit for this path, which runs almost exclusively on the GR221; unlike the adjacent section of trail that runs through a vulture sanctuary.

Today's tour started at the Valldemossa hiking car park, where you can get a day ticket for €3.50. There's also plenty of space on the surrounding roads for the same price. After a short stretch through the charming village of Valldemossa, the circular trail begins. There's a short (pink) and a long (blue) trail. The trail started off narrow and rocky at the beginning, but was still well signposted. Unfortunately, it gradually became more and more confusing, and at times it was impossible to find the way without Komoot...but really only at the beginning. It was quite a steep climb, but somehow easy to walk; you didn't really notice it. After 2 hours and 5 kilometers, you reach the upper plateau of Es Caragolí. From here, you have great views of El Daià and Port de Sóller to the left. There are also plenty of places to take a break if you sit somewhere sheltered from the wind. The descent was easy at first, but it became increasingly steep, but the wide, well-maintained paths made for a brisk walk. Highly recommended.

5 days after the onset of winter in the Serra Tramuntana with extremely heavy snow and a hurricane-force storm, this tour was quite a challenge! Passages in snow-covered side valleys on the ascent and descent, there was also an enormous amount of wind damage from the storm, trees and branches blocked the paths, especially in the lower regions, had to be bypassed or climbed over! In spite of all this, the tour on the riders' path offered a very special fascination, a wintry panorama of the mountains of the Serra Tramuntana, when do you ever have the opportunity to experience this?
