Although it is outdated, it is a beautiful vantage point with the best panoramic view of the landscape. The eponymous fox is on the roof of the pavilion. Below there is an interesting geological outcrop.

January 19, 2025,Naturlehrpfad Rastenberg (Thüringen Stempel 370, 371, 372)
I'm starting my 2025 season with a stamp hunt. It was a lovely hike with lots of fog and very good air for the respiratory tract after a cold. There is also a hidden picture (the first picture with lots of leaves). What can you see there??😱

We completed this entertaining midday hike on Good Friday, before the rain.
We primarily walked along the Rastenberg Geopath.
Overcast skies, a slight westerly wind, and temperatures of around 9°C made the hike easy. Two hares were our prey during our observations.

On Good Friday, we explored the nature trail around Rastenberg. There were no other hikers around except for a few dog walkers. The weather was around 9 degrees Celsius, and toward the end of our tour, it started to rain.

Today I followed the Rastenberg Geo-Path. It mostly follows the old nature trail. However, I was missing signs, especially where the route has changed. Even though I know the area well, I couldn't find the right path – but I did find the signs for the old nature trail. Despite the confusion, it was a lovely hike.

Today there was a bit of time and great weather - so for a change we went to northern Thuringia in search of spring... and we've already found quite a lot of it 😍🌱🌞👌
The Rastenberg nature trail is preferably through the same - on varied and easy-to-walk paths, with some views of the Thuringian Basin, rest areas and Rastenberg. …

A lovely hike in warm weather, although the paths are not well maintained. The weeds grow as tall as a man, making it difficult to get through. The benches are partly overgrown. The signage is inadequate.

Today I was in Rastenberg to discover the touring stamps 371-373.
I parked in the village, near the library. There were plenty of parking spaces.
Here I followed the signs for the Geo-Route circular hike. I would also recommend following these signs the entire way, as the nature trail is very poorly signposted and also very overgrown. Here, the path …

On the last day of hiking in Thuringia, we went to Rastenberg, a former spa town on the edge of the Finne. The circular hiking trail on the geopath suggested by Touringen could be supplemented with another stamp without much effort. The somewhat out-of-date place has its own charm, and we also liked the wonderful paths all around and the …
