December 27, 2021,Walla Crag, Bleaberry, High Seat and High Tove
One of my favourites too Martin. Came down by Watendlath, Surprise View and Ashness Bridge with a short detour to Barrow Falls.. was lovely
A bit of a mix with this loop which took in 5 Wainwright's. The morning started off quite foggy and there was a lot of bogs to navigate all the way round. Once the mist cleared though there were some absolutely gorgeous views, especially from High Seat which was just stunning in every direction and made it all worthwhile 🤩⛰️
Finally, some sun shine all the way around my hike 😀. Feels like it's been forever. This was a brilliant loop with amazing views for such little effort and elevation 📸. The only real challenge is navigating the bog and sink holes after Walla Crag. Which pretty much was continuous after. I'd definitely recommend at least 2-3 pairs of socks …
A good walk down this Central Fells ridge, looping back via Watendlath. This ridge used to be a real bogfest but the recently renovated path using large flags has improved. It beyond measure between High Seat and High Tove in all but a few places. My guess is they left those to renind us how it used to be.
