Dockholme Lock

Highlight • Cycleway

Dockholme Lock sits in Long Eaton on the Erewash Canal, next to a beautiful brick canal bridge. This lock once would've seen much industrial traffic, including transportation of coal and bombs shells during the Second World War.

Today, the canal only sees pleasure cruisers, kayakers and swans, making it and it's towpath a fantastic place to explore. A section of the Nutbrook Trail cycle path uses the towpath before switching to the neighbouring Nutbrook Canal.
