Nice little round first through the fields, then through a forest. Very close way with many blackberries and brenessels. Many fallen trees but you come across great. Later then again a fortified way

The spoil heap of the former Graf Schwerin colliery is today the highest point in the city of Castrop-Rauxel – and one of the region's best-known landmarks. Which is not least thanks to the walkable sundial on the summit.

Goldschmieding House

The noble Goldschmieding House in the Castrop court was renovated at the end of the 16th century under Johann von Schell zur Rechen and Anna
Margaretha von Overlacker. Only one half of the manor house with a round corner tower has survived since the 17th century. The most important piece of equipment is a magnificent Renaissance fireplace.

I was pleasantly surprised by the varied tour. It is based on a hike from the hiking guide "Ruhrgebiet Wandern Kultur und Genuss."

Today we set off for the Schwerin slag heap in Castrop Rauxel. The tour offers many very different impressions. On the one hand, nature with beautiful forest passages and parks, and on the other hand, some urban sections. But of course the numerous mining relics are what particularly characterize the area ⛏️🏭.

Beautiful hike, although rubber boots would have been better than barefoot shoes; but soooo beautiful. Others have often already cleared side paths to avoid the mud. Still highly recommended!!!

Quick to get to for me and mostly suitable for winter.
It was often on forest paths and trails. The paths through the mixed forest were mostly slightly hilly and were often accompanied by small streams.🤩 The repeatedly muddy areas could be avoided by going to the side.
