Tree Trail Immendorf–Apweiler–Waurichen

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Worth seeing is the nature around Immendorf, Apweiler and Waurichen in any case, now leads a suitable way in about one hour hiking time around the places.
So that the visitors always know whether they are facing blood maple, beech, black walnut or Douglas fir, the hardworking volunteers from the orchard and gardening association have also installed a signage for the trees. There are six benches, a meadow orchard and a designated signage of the trail

Here you will find information about the Beeckfließ near the station and what it was used for in the past.
Beeckfliess
Depending on the direction of travel, you have just crossed the Beeckfließ on the circular route or you will cross it shortly. Since the Carl-Alexander colliery went into operation, the Beeckfließ has been used as a drainage ditch through which the pumped-out water was transported away. It flows through the outskirts of Beggendorf, passing through the towns of Floverich, Apweiler, Beeck, Leiffarth and Honsdorf and, after 13.3 km, flows into the Wurm below Honsdorf. Since the mine closed, the Beeckfließ has had no continuous water supply in its upper reaches from the mine site to the confluence with the Gereonsweiler Fließ. Later, most of the banks on the Beeckfließ were fortified and some areas were restored to their natural state. However, the flow is actually much older. Formerly known as "Busch-Sooth", it drained the Baesweiler Erbwald, the large forest area that stretched between Baesweiler, Neuweiler and Boscheln.
