Like all other high valleys in the region, the rocky slope was once covered by ice masses. After the glaciers retreated, the impressive hollow forms of the high valleys remained, together with the masses of rubble that the glaciers had left behind, and the majestic, bizarre and rugged shapes of the summit regions remained - jagged ridges, steeply sloping rock faces in the summit areas. Behind the rocky slope you can see a steep edge that is dominated to the right by the summit of Tete de Millot. To the left of this you can see the foothills of the Turtmann Glacier.
