With 1674 inhabitants (2011 census), Baška is the second largest municipality on the island of Krk in the Kvarner Bay. The place is located at the southern end of the Baška Valley at the mouth of the Vela Rika River, which has its source on Hlam Hill. The distance to the mainland (Krk Bridge) is around 50 km.
