The Eifelsteig trail was marked today by many fallen trees. Sometimes we went under them, sometimes over them. Part of the trail looked like a plowed field. Wild boars had been wreaking havoc there.

A highlight of the hike was the Peter Zirbes House.

Here's Peter Zirbes' Christmas poem. We had to memorize it in elementary school. 🫣

Originally the route was planned differently.
At 1.6 km we should cross the Salm over a bridge.
It was completely destroyed in the heavy rain in July.
However, the alternative is also quite nice.
