St. Laurentius Church, Hohenhameln

Highlight • Religious Site

It is the Protestant Church of St. Laurentius.
The parish was founded in the 9th or 10th century. As a result of the Hildesheim Diocesan Feud, Hohenhameln fell to the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel and therefore became Lutheran.
In 1712, however, the Catholic bishop of Hildesheim had a small Catholic church of the same name built. This is within sight of the Protestant church.

Bypass at the Guardrail

Highlight • Trail

If you don't feel like lifting your bike over the guardrail on the way to the canal... There's a passable bypass further to the right...😎

Kammweg Stedum–Bierbergen Gravel Segment

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The section's surface consists of patched asphalt, a cobblestone segment ala Paris-Roubaix and a firm dirt dirt road. A stop (give way) is on the Stedum-Bierbergen road and later there is a barrier that you can drive past on the right. Since it is a ridge path, you have beautiful views to the north and south. The route can be ridden in both directions, but it's more exciting if you cycle from west to east. Especially when a hard westerly wind blows again.
The MTB pictogram cannot be changed to a gravel pictogram afterwards, so it is only marked as "Mountain bike highlight (section)".
