Goit Stock Falls

Highlight • Waterfall

If you like waterfalls then this is your trek! It can get a bit muddy, and certainly slippy when wet/winter so caution is advised but either way it's a beautiful trek with lots of waterfalls. A local treasure.

You can carry on up the pathway to Goit Stock Falls. It takes you through a wooded area which can be uneven and muddy on occasions, but well worth the hike up there

Lovely place for a walk carry on and you come to the waterfalls.

Ferrand's Folly

Highlight • Monument

A really interesting structure - quite magical as it appears in front of you out of the pines. Such a shame it has some graffiti on it - would be great if the council could get it cleaned up - things like this are worth preserving! The Ruin, as it is called on the earliest OS maps, was built by Benjamin Ferrand and is inscribed with his initials and the year 1796. Also known as Ferrand’s Folly, or Harden Grange Folly, there is no explanation for why it later became known as St David’s Ruin.

Beckfoot Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Beckfoot Bridge is a super attractive and historic stone-built packhorse bridge over Harden Beck. Alongside it is the ford that it was built to complement back in 1723. At the time, two contractors were paid £10 to not only build the bridge but also to maintain it for seven years.
