Badenweiler Spa Park

Highlight • Natural Monument

Badenweiler's 22-hectare spa park is one of the most tree-rich spa parks in Germany. It was created more than 250 years ago based on the model of English parks. In the middle of it are the Roman bath ruins and Baden Castle. So you're not just walking through nature here, but also through Badenweiler's history.

The local mountain of the Markgräflerland is the 1164 m high high blue, which can be made thanks to a radio tower on its summit from the Rhine valley or from other mountains in the southern Black Forest. The mountain rises above Badenweiler and is thus between the Upper Rhine and the Kandertal. On fine days you have a great view over the southern Black Forest, to the Vosges Mountains and the border triangle around Basel - if you're lucky, even the Bernese Oberland with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can be seen.
The L140 leads to the high blue between Badenweiler and the upper Kandertal. The last three kilometers to the summit, however, are traversed on a spur road. From the Rhine Valley at least a stately 800 meters in altitude are covered, which are almost alpine dimensions. Thus, the blue in the southern Black Forest is one of the so-called big four - the other three are Feldberg, Belchen and Schauinsland. Although the blue in this quartet is certainly the least well-known, the view you have in particular from a small tower at the summit does not have to hide from the one at the Belchen. If you want to pack the mountain into a short but crisp round trip, you can combine it with the Way of the Cross, for example.

Sculptures accompany us here along the entire path. From Badenweiler to Lipburg and over Sehringen back. Forest, meadows and villages, a successful backdrop for a tour that I can only recommend 🐾 she is determined in every season to walk well and also offers variety and interesting points of view

Today the weather is very unstable, with luck I was able to use a time window in which it was largely dry. In Badenweiler this Saturday is already "white Sunday".
