Today I grabbed Mia and went hiking with my friend Soyaz in my former work area, the Höltigbaum nature reserve.
11 km criss-cross. As usual, there was a lot going on, but it was spread out because the paths were wide and the area was quite large.
We had everything with us and had a picnic. It was lovely.

The largest NSG in Hamburg city area. Bigger than Ohlsdorf and the city park combined. Nevertheless, apparently unknown and more of a local recreation area for residents. Until 1992, it was a military training area for the Bundeswehr, which might sound unsexy, but give it a try. Is really beautiful.

As a Lübecker, I didn't even know that there was so much beautiful nature outside the gates of Hamburg.
