Unfortunately there is no sign for this castle ruin on the way. Just follow the Warne origin. The ruin encloses a large wall.

Forest restaurant Hasenspring

Highlight • Restaurant

The currywurst tastes really delicious, as does Jägerschnitzel and "isotonic" drinks 🍻as well. 😁

You can also find the ILE * Freizeitstempelstelle 16 "Waldgaststätte Hasenspring" which is directly opposite the beer garden. It is freely accessible.

* ILE - Integrated Rural Development - the stamping points are located in scenic and culturally and historically significant locations in the “NördlichesHarzVorland” region. More information at: noerdliches-harzvorland.com/natur-aktiv/wandern/stempelstellen

The sculpture "Jakobsleiter" by Gerd Winner (German painter & graphic artist * 1936)
was manufactured in 2000 from Salzgitter steel and stainless steel.
The Jacob's ladder or the ladder to heaven is an ascent and descent between earth and heaven, which, according to the biblical story, Jacob saw in a dream vision during his flight from Esau. It stood on the ground and its point reached into the sky. On it he sees angels of God ascending and descending.

The sculpture "Wegkreuz Straute" is the connection between the sculpture park Liebenburg and the sculpture path Salzgitter. Leo Kornbrust then closed the remaining gap in 2012 with his "double cross" exactly on the district boundaries of Liebenburg and Salzgitter

Liebenburg Palace

Highlight • Castle

The exterior of the baroque palace was completed between 1754 and 1760. It was not fully completed until 1815 to 1818, two years after the death of its builder, Prince-Bishop Clemens August. In the western part of the castle is the Catholic baroque church with the famous ceiling fresco by Joseph Gregori Winck. For many years the district court was housed in the east wing. For over thirty years, the palace has been the home and workplace of the internationally known painter and graphic artist Prof. Gerd Winner.
Due to the death of the elector and prince-bishop Clemens August, the palace gardens were not completed. In addition to the baroque garden design, the sculptures that belong to a baroque palace are missing. The sculptures, the three-disc cross, the sun arrow and the sky disc are in this tradition. However, their reference to time does not lie in the historical decoration, but is linked to today's time and the world of work. They are also not allowed to have a base, but have their basis in nature. The sculptures are connected via the Straute Valley to the nine (9) sculptures by international artists of the time - the Road of Peace from Paris to Moscow.
