A nice resting place at a crossroads. Space for a larger group.

The Gründerswiese stretches from the mountain plateau at 800 m (NHN) down to the Black Spring. It is therefore located in the almost flat area above the source corridor of the pigeon crucible, a source stream of the Effelders. There used to be a forest workers' hut here, called "Waldhaus Drei Buchen". They lived here and saved themselves an hour's walk from Rabenäußig to their workplace in the forest. In addition, many connecting paths and the three forests Hämmern, Rauenstein and Steinheid crossed on this saddle. The nearest settlement (Rauenstein) is 3 km and 400 meters in altitude, 4 km to Augustenthal and 5 km to Steinheid. It took at least an hour to get there with a wagon through the ravines. Many charcoal burner sites can be found around the meadow. Here they produced charcoal for the iron works.
