Nice ten mile segment climbing out of Milpitas away from development into the rural Calaveras Valley. Interesting to see the rebuilt Calaveras Dam, completed after a nine year seismic retrofit in 2019.

An awesome road with great views and lots of visibility, which allows you to ride very fast if you fancy it. It's a good climb as well, beautiful and not very busy. Often linked with the steeper Sierra Road for a loop from San Jose.
