Nice walk around Monickendam.
Nice village walk along the harbor.
Through the Hemmeland recreation area.
And over a nice dike along the lake.
You can also see 2 monuments.
The weather was great.
Had a beer on the terrace and then had an eel sandwich.
It was definitely worth it!

Monnickendam is a charming little town on the Markermeer lake. With its historic buildings and idyllic harbor, it's definitely worth a visit. In contrast to the nearby, tourist-heavy Volendam, it's pleasantly quiet.

I had another pair of shoes to break in and I did that in Monnickendam. First to the harbor through the village. Then recreation area Hemmeland and finally along the water with a loop back to the starting point.
On the dike after Hemmeland it is sometimes difficult to walk because of sunken cobblestones. Otherwise a nice walk.
