It mainly follows the powerlines, but passes through a number of nice city parks and intersects with other trails, such as the Bluebonnet and Legacy Trails. Also, Handel's Ice Cream sits at the intersection with Legacy Drive and makes the perfect pit stop for a hot day.

The Preston Ridge Trail, part of Plano's trail system, spans 6.1 miles in a north-south direction. It links with several other trails, such as the Bluebonnet, Preston Meadow, and Legacy Trails. This trail also connects to local sites, including Daffron Elementary, Preston Meadow Park, Carpenter Park and Recreation Center, and Robinson Middle School. Cyclists should be cautious of road crossings along the route. The trail is well-maintained, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride.

This is a great place to pause and sip some water on one of the many benches before continuing on your ride down the Chisholm Trail.
