Aussichtspunkt am Parkplatz

Highlight • Viewpoint

At the beginning of April the roads are still officially closed. So the cyclists have the mountain to themselves. Great view of the high Alps in eastern France.

Bédoin

Highlight • Settlement

Bédoin is a small town at the foot of Mont Ventoux, which, in addition to wine growing, has one main source of income: Ventoux tourism. Good for you, with its accommodations and restaurants, this place is perfect for a multi-day Ventoux and Provence program.

Graviers Blancs Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This pebble track allows you to do this mythical climb of Ventoux in the middle of nature, without crossing a car, from Bédoin.
You reach the start of the "Graviers Blancs" track from Bédoin via the Chemin de la Montagne, located north of the village. This DFCI (Forest Defense Against Fire) trail climbs for 15 km of fairly physical rocky switchbacks (between 6% and 12%). We arrive at the crossroads of Grands Pins (1420 m), where two directions are possible: either the direction of Mont Serein (respite of 2.5 km by the track of the head of the Chauve) and we join the secondary road D974. Or the Building track towards Châlets Reynard. For the final climb, those who want to avoid too much paved road, it is best to take the track from the head of the Chauve (left at the Grands Pins crossroads).

Chalet Reynard

Highlight • Restaurant

Chalet Reynard is one of those essentials when you cycle up this mythical mountain. Many people stop at the chalet, in order to comfort themselves around a drink, or a meal before the final ascent of the last six kilometers which leads to the summit.

September 19, 2024,Von Bédoin über den Ventoux nach Malaucène
Should I or shouldn't I? With a 35 kg bike over the Ventoux? Bédoin is 300 m above sea level and the Ventoux is 1912 m high; that's a lot of altitude! But it beckons, the holy mountain of cyclists, hundreds of people ride up there every day on their racing bikes. For me it would be the sixth time …
