Gößl on Lake Grundlsee

Highlight • Settlement

Also in summer a wonderful starting point for excursions, but also a destination for hiking, swimming, eating ... And there is almost always the right evening mood for romantics.

Beautiful to make a break here in beautiful weather, a breathtaking panorama - the table and the benches here just great!

Beautiful, romantic place. Mostly very quiet there, so to speak, a dead end: the road only continues to Gößl or Wienern and then ends.

Get breakfast in the morning at the university market. Then we already had tickets for a tour of the (highly recommended) salt mine. Then a short walk to the Blaa-Alm for lunch. Then to the Tressensteinwarte for digestion and last but not least a lap around the lake 😍 An absolutely perfect, wonderful day with my girls 😎😃

The question that arose today was: "Why have we never been to Grundlsee?"
We arrived at the Gößl campsite in Gößl am Grundlsee today and were immediately very impressed and excited.

Great place at the far end of Grundlsee.

Very large circuit around the entire lake, the starting part with a few spots that are not suitable for bicycles and prams. All parking spaces around the lake and at the access roads have recently been subject to a charge (8 €) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., only at the Znaim sports center/lift there are a few normal parking …

This tour is just great, although exhausting you have to go on asphalt in parts. There are enough opportunities to stop off. Great views of the lake and mountains.

Unpacked my massive rain gear today 😆 It was necessary. Still, another great ride!

Showing Translation

The narrow path on the right was closed, probably due to storm damage: danger from slipping trees! It's the shady lake side.

Showing Translation

Officially, part of the path is closed due to fallen trees.
Fishing hut at Toplitzsee is open.
