View of Saint-Michel Chapel

Highlight • Viewpoint

The view of the Chapelle Saint-Michel from Erquy is striking: the small stone chapel sits on its own little island, just off the coast. Built in the 19th century, the chapel stands guard amidst the wild beauty of Brittany.

The Sables-d’Or-les-Pins lagoon is considered by many to be the most beautiful in Brittany. This vast dune complex shaped by the elements is bathed in a true monochrome of colors. Swimming or contemplation, you will be delighted whatever happens.

The Marais Bridge is a reinforced concrete bridge built at the beginning of the 20th century for the Yffignac-Matignon railway line of the Petit Train des Côtes du Nord. It was designed by the architect Louis Harel de la Noë and is part of a series of works which have made it possible to develop tourism in the department. The bridge has been recently restored and hosts the greenway and the Euro Vélo 4.

The bridge offers a view of the Plurien lagoon, a marsh that lives to the rhythm of the tides and is home to lush vegetation. It is an ideal place for walking and observing nature. The GR®34 also passes over the bridge and leads to fine sandy beaches and pink sandstone cliffs.

August 27, 2025,France GR® 34 Bretagne 🇫🇷 6 🌩️😱😳
We continue with all our belongings towards Erquy. A bed and a delicious dinner await us there tonight in a hotel 🏨. 😋

On the way along the coast, the stones slowly turn pink.
Truly pretty...

We let ourselves be tempted, take photos... etc.
