Historic Center of Asolo

Highlight • Historical Site

Asolo is a small, walled town with many narrow streets. It is one of the most beautiful medieval 'Borghi' in Italy and is known as the 'Pearl of Treviso'. The small picturesque village is nestled in the foothills of the Dolomites. You can park your car outside the city walls in the underground car park "Cipressina". A steep climb takes you to the city gate 'Portello di Castelfranco' and via the 'Via Browning' you reach the pleasant Piazza Garibaldi.

On the main square, the 15th century Palazzo della Ragione with its beautiful artefacts is worth a visit.

Rocca di Asolo, which rises high above the town, triggers many visitors. If you would like to get to know this castle, check the opening hours in advance. The path to it is a tough one. Unfortunately, we missed the effort ☹. The 'Lock' was locked.

We were able to satisfy our hunger for medieval architecture in the Castello Pretorio. It is a hidden gem in the idyllic town. Free access gives you the opportunity to delve into the long, special history of the fort. It is an early medieval fortress that has had different residents and interpretations over the centuries. Take the time to hit the pause button and enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Belevedere della Specola.

On the artistic bench 'Il Bacio' by serverino Morlin, which is placed in the shadow of the Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta, we say goodbye to the 'Pearl of Treviso' with a big kiss.

It was nice to be there for a few hours.

The Paths of the Ezzelini constitute a formidable cycle path, away from car traffic, tree-lined, with compact dirt terrain and comfortable rest areas. If you go north you will see the mountains in front of you, getting closer and closer.

Villa Caprera

Highlight • Historical Site

On the Ezzelini paths along the Muson, NOT AVAILABLE.
The villa of the noblewoman Foscarini has been reported since 17 March 1778 in a regulation project for the Muson stream and the Musonello canal in the territory of Castello di Godego. In the 19th century the owner, a general of Garibaldi's army, whose name has not been traced, decided to name the villa after the town of the hero of the two worlds. Subsequently, the Bassanese road, built in 1830, which connects Bassano to Castelfranco Veneto, also took the name of the villa, maintaining it to this day.

Castelfranco Veneto Castle

Highlight • Castle

Castelfranco Veneto is the walled city that links its name to Giorgione. Enclosed by a fascinating city wall – among the best preserved in Italy – in addition to the imposing castle, it has some buildings of great interest, such as the Academic Theater and the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà.
