The route is entirely on asphalt, with the sole exception of a short, dirt stretch of about 300 meters just outside the center of Torriglia. It's a rather steep climb, which I recommend avoiding by following the provincial road toward Acquabuona: a short detour that, however, allows you to warm up your legs without unnecessary fatigue.
