Peschiera del Garda Port

Highlight • Settlement

Peschiera del Garda is a lively and always on the move town. There are some beaches for swimming and sunbathing; or you can enjoy a walk in the narrow alleys of the center or along the port. The old city is surrounded by canals and you can tour on small boats to better discover the historic city walls. Peschiera del Garda is the only town on Lake Garda where there is a train station. The cycle path along the Mincio towards Mantua starts from here.

Overlooking the waters of Garda, Peschiera has a history of ancient peoples and illustrious dominations. And this is clear from the entrance to the city: fortresses, walls, defensive canals. A town that invites discovery, offering rest on its beaches and adventures along the streets that embrace its history.

September 18, 2022,Lake Garda - Lazise to Sirmione
Ride the route on Youtube in 4K UHD:
Beautiful bike tour from Lazise to the old town of Sirmione. You have to be very careful on the bike paths because you share them with pedestrians and there are often bollards and railings along the way that you have to go around. With a trailer like the one we had with us, it's sometimes not so easy. It's better …

A nice tour, but partly along very busy roads. Sirmione is a really beautiful town but absolutely overrun with tourists.

Showing Translation

Today a last, short ride to Sirmione. There we were greeted with ice-cold, homemade lemonade. The lemons 🍋 the size of a child's head. Impressive Castillo.

Showing Translation

The tour is easy to drive once you get used to the bad bike paths or the heavy traffic. Some beautiful views of the hinterland and often of Lake Garda.

Showing Translation

Unfortunately, I only took my own photo because it felt like a million people blocked the view everywhere 😱

Showing Translation

A little hint:
It's best to be in the center of Sirmione between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., then you can still enjoy everything before the big rush of visitors arrives.😉

Peschiera and Sirmione two picturesque towns with beautiful streets,
but real tourist magnets.
Lots of traffic and the bike paths weren't particularly good.
