Highlight • Bridge

From here we can see the Old Bridge of Saint-Jean-du-Gard, a historic monument dating from the 18th century. Formerly, it was one of the rare places where you could cross the Gardon.

Gentle little route to St-Jean-du-Gard. This stage marks the end of the journey for the Stevenson/Modestine duo. It is in St-Jean-Du-Gard that J. L. Stevenson resells Modestine, his travel companion.

And that was only the first of several long climbs followed by sometimes difficult descents.
