Before the damage done by crazy weather some years ago, this wonderful mountain trail used to be just in "somewhat strenuous" category. No real technical difficulties, no special equipment necessary, just unrelenting going up and up and up, but in beautiful surroundings and on good, firm enough ground (one very short and easy ferrata-like passage that any child could do). Obligatory stop at Črno jezero (Black Lake), and then on to Triglav Lakes Hut (Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih). Trekking poles and good hiking boots was all one needed, in addition to being in a good enough shape to ascend for a couple of hours on a relatively steep terrain. I have done it a number of times, either alone or with my family and friends. After the weather disaster, the trail was closed for quite some time due to fallen trees and other damage and debris. If it is now open I would really love to do it again, but considering my advancing age and retreating health, I may just have to hold on to my memories.
