The wooden boards that lead through the moor in places were partly slippery/icy. So we had to be careful. Despite the sometimes difficult path, there were surprisingly many other hikers on the moor.

A small natural gem not far from the A96
Not as well-known as the Wurzacher or the Pfrunger Ried - but there are ponds, lakes, heathlands and a nature adventure trail just a few hundred meters away. The short paved descent into the "peat grotto" is particularly worthwhile.
