Back to simple: vanilla ice cream only, different sizes, few not really necessary toppings - great taste.

The free-to-use White Bicycle is inextricably linked to De Hoge Veluwe National Park. The Park has 1,800 of them, distributed among the bicycle parking facilities on Marchantplein, at the Kröller-Müller Museum, the Sint Hubertus Hunting Lodge, and the entrances (Hoenderloo, Otterlo, and Schaarsbergen). You can therefore hop on immediately upon entering the Park. The White Bicycles are equipped with a child seat, and there are White Bicycles for children (without training wheels).

Once a White Bicycle is parked in the parking facility, another visitor may use it. They cannot be reserved or locked.

History
The idea for the free-to-use White Bicycles originated with Luud Schimmelpennink. As a member of the Provo movement, he came up with the idea of providing 2,000 free-to-use bicycles in Amsterdam in the late 1960s. The plan never came to fruition, but De Hoge Veluwe National Park did implement it in 1974. The initial purchase of 50 bicycles proved a resounding success, and the decision to expand the project was quickly made. Now, 50 years later, the Park has 1,800 White Bicycles.

Model
The White Bicycle is the ideal recreational bicycle, without unnecessary accessories: simple in design, without lights, without a bell, and without gears. The saddle and handlebars are height-adjustable. Easy to get on and off, and thanks to their gear ratio, the White Bicycles are comfortable to ride.
