Just before Le Grau du Roi is a large pond teeming with pink flamingos. In the background, you can also see the Pic Saint Loup.

Along the canal from Le Grau du Roi to Aigues Mortes you have a separate cycle path. Here you can spot Pink Flamingos in many places. You can also see the large salt pyramids here.

Port of Aigues-Mortes

Highlight • Other

Over yachts and houseboats, there's a view of the southern city walls of Aigues-Mortes. The traffic flow between the canal bridge and the harbor isn't entirely clear. In addition to one-way streets, there's also a signposted bike path, but there are also many people on foot. Ultimately, I stayed on the road, which, behind the harbor, merges into the bike path to Le Grau-du-Roi.

Touradons bridge

Highlight • Bridge

On the tour along the canal, don't go under the bridge but briefly up onto the bridge. Great view over the marshland on both sides of the canal.

Impeccable. Wide, flat and well surfaced. The only slight criticism is that it is rather monotonous in terms of things to look at as you ride along; water, marshes, sky, path. That's it! This runs alongside the north bank of the Canal du Rhône à Séte. There is almost no shade along here; be sure to wear some suncream. It is a mixed user path so share nicely with anyone out walking. A cheery 'bonjour' ought to alert anyone to your imminent passing. If the wind is blowing strongly, as it often does in this part of the world, there is a very small risk of tree branches blocking the route. I joined the path just outside the village of Gallician and rejoined the D46 highway just south of the Tour Carbonnière on a road bike.

Carbonnière Tower

Highlight • Monument

The Tour Carbonnière is an old medieval watchtower located in the heart of the Camargue marshes. Built in the 13th century to control access to Aigues-Mortes, it served as a mandatory passage and a surveillance post. Today, it offers a remarkable viewpoint over the surrounding landscapes.
