Isn't it wonderful how those old canals offer us peace and quiet and opportunities for cycling? Often straightened where the river meanders too much. Here, the Seine splits and meanders with a vengeance. Nowadays, those ships would only take two 25-tonners off the road at most, and they'd be far too slow.
