The work started in the spring of 1859 was completed in May 1860. Since that time, Wissignicourt has had within its walls a church measuring 23 meters long and 12 meters wide, in place of the old chapel.
It was destroyed during WW1 and rebuilt shortly thereafter with the aid of War damage.
