Populonia Alta is still inhabited part of Populonia and is located on the today Poggio Castello called hill, which was later settled by the Etruscans. Nice to ride a MTB. On the way, narrow paths (partly impassable) lead down to the sea, where you will find lonely bays for swimming and snorkeling.
You can also park at Populonia (partly for a fee) and take a short hike along the path to look for a bathing bay.
