Old Market, Lennep

Highlight • Settlement

Narrow streets, black slate houses, green shutters – a typical Bergisch street scene in Remscheid-Lennep in an almost circular town center. The German Roentgen Museum is located in the historic old town. Here you follow in the footsteps of the first German Nobel Prize winner and learn a lot about Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen - about his life, but above all about his discovery of X-rays and the many possible uses of this technology.

The bridge is a nice introduction to a tour down the river Wupper. It goes without great differences in height along the scenic valley past an old Kotten (museum grinding) and appealing inns.
I came with the S-Bahn to Solingen Hbf (Ohligs). From there, it's a bit painstaking through the city up the mountain towards Müngstener bridge. But then downhill to Wuppertal and, as I said, enjoyable again towards the main station.
If the Kraxelei in Ohligs is too much can also go by bus to the bridge park.

Müngsten Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The Müngsten Bridge is truly an impressive structure. It is 465 meters long and leads at a height of 107 meters over the valley and the bridge park. The Brückenpark is just as worthwhile and offers many opportunities such as hiking, mountain biking, stopping off, relaxing and simply enjoying the beautiful landscape.

Find out in advance whether the transporter bridge is in operation, otherwise you will have to take a long detour.
It gets muddy after rain!

Burg Castle

Highlight • Castle

The hike to Burg Castle is short and challenging, climbing at a gradient of 16 to 19 percent, but the reward is more than worth it. The view of the Lower Castle and Burg Castle is magnificent. And the waffles are highly recommended.
