From the Aiguille du Bionassey, this superb glacier descends into the Vény valley, a breathtaking view from the road

Just before arriving at the Cabane Combal Refuge, on the left, you will see a magnificent turquoise-colored body of water with imposing mountains in the background: it is a wonderful point and an excellent stop for taking photographs.

Moving on to this point, instinct will ask you for a break. The colors of the river, flowers and surrounding mountains create a wonderful contrast. It is impossible to forget this glimpse: when I think of my Mont Blanc Tour this is one of the first images that my mind offers me.

Val Veny

Highlight • Gorge

A stunning valley in the Mont Blanc massif. Here you will find a gravel track that turns into a single track (hike a bike) up to the col de la Seigne. But the views are incredible!

There are a couple of Reguges in the valley where you can sleep/ eat.

I took my mountain bike up from Verrand (a hamlet above Courmayeur), descended to Dolonne, and then ascended from Dolonne along the ski slope to Plan Checrouit, WITHOUT taking the cable cars.
The climb is challenging and not easy. I used a turbo on some of the steeper sections. The surface is very uneven, making the descent to Dolonne along the same road more difficult.
I preferred to continue up the ski slopes until I reached the Zerotta cable car station, then descended towards Val Veny.
Be careful, as the GPS navigation systems provide routes towards Val Veny that are unfeasible due to large fallen trees in the path.
