The bridge connects the upper and lower parts of Rotenburg and the old town. Wonderful view of the Fulda, the power station and the old half-timbered houses.

July 31, 2024,eBike Tour Malsfeld <> Rotenburg a. d. Fulda 🚲😎💪🏻
Today, despite the heat, we chose a different direction again. We went along the Fulda to Rothenburg.

Due to the holiday season, the beautiful little old town was completely overcrowded.

A quick visit to my cousin at the hydroelectric power station and then we headed leisurely back home.

Nice leisurely tour spontaneously on a late Sunday afternoon.

Because of the heat, the plan was only to drive to Ahlhein to the battleship, eat a bite to eat and enjoy a cool 🍺.

But it felt like hundreds of other people had the same plan and the battleship was almost full.

Today, I spontaneously drove from Malsfeld along the R1 to Rothenburg with friends, visiting the Highwalk (a suspension bridge over the Kottenbach Valley). (The ice cream was delicious, the weather was perfect—what more could you want?)

Beautiful bike tour with Haydau Monastery as a stopover.
The bicycle ferry over the Fulda near Beiseförth is highly recommended, but it is also tiring

Really nice bike ride from Rotenburg Fulda to Melsungen.
In the sunshine by bike through the meadows of the Fulda.
Am thrilled.

The plan was actually to ride to Bebra and then back on the Cantus. Instead, we rode, or rather pushed, a bit through Rotenburg. There was a festival or a flea market there, or maybe both. The pedestrian zone was completely packed, so you can't ride there. Then we took a leisurely ride back on the Cantus. That was enough …

Werra-Fulda cycle tour from the " Rückenwind catalogue" with some of our own tour changes.

On the second day of the tour, we went to the former Haydau monastery and then to Melsungen. In Haydau there is a café with sensational cakes and live music on Sundays and public holidays. Melsungen has beautiful half-timbered houses, just like in Rotenburg.
