Wilhelmshöhe Palace

Highlight • Castle

You can only give something historical to the castle. This works best on a portal and I have decided for the kassel.de/kultur/sehenswuerdigkeiten/Bergpark/01927/index.html. Schloss Wilhelmshöhe was under Landgrave Wilhelm IX. Built …

From the Kunstmuseum you can see the Hercules, the Wilhelmshöhe and the aqueduct at the end of the water games.

Impressive, world-wide unique technical achievement. The fountain is driven only by gravity and not by a pump.

Just very impressive - and a bit crazy to build something like this. But to create something special you always need people with crazy ideas.

The Felseneck was created in 1794/1795 below the cascades according to the plans of Heinrich Christoph Jussow. Divided into vestibule, cloakroom and cabinet, it served as a rest and refreshment room. (Wikipedia)

Simply a very beautiful motif, the Devil's Bridge in Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. Which was created as an arched bridge with a wooden railing. In 1826, the present Brückengitter was poured by the company Henschel.

Since not much has been described here about the history of the temple, I would like to take this time. Nothing is easier than to take it from regiowiki.hna.de/Apollo-Tempel. So …

October 4, 2024,Bergparkleuchten in Kassel Wilhelmshöhe
From October 3rd to 6th, 2024, the city of Kassel will be illuminating the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, with stunning illuminations! We had the opportunity to enjoy the colorful productions and the equally impressive water features, great light art installations by international artists and fascinating 3D video projections on the palace facade of Wilhelmshöhe Palace!

On the way back from Halle/Westphalia (🥎🎾🤩) we stopped at the beautiful Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe and climbed 535 steps to the Hercules statue 😅

The Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel is worth a visit at any time of day.

Somehow we didn't like the Bergparkleuchten as much this time as we did last year! There were no truly spectacular light displays and almost everything was bathed in red light! It's a shame, as with an entrance fee of 12 euros our expectations were a little higher this time than last year's free event!

On the last day in the Kassel region, we visited the special attraction, the water features in the Wilhelmshöhe mountain park. On a Sunday, of course, it was very busy, but it also spread out. It was definitely worth seeing this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
