Hof Armada

Highlight • Historical Site

The Armada farm, whose history dates back to the 12th century, has been rewriting its history since 2011. In that year Harald Knettenbrech acquired the Armada farm from the state of Hesse and thus fulfilled a dream.

Cherry Blossom Avenue

Highlight • Natural Monument

We didn't hike to the cherry blossom but to the cherry harvest on the Rheinsteig and enjoyed one or the other cherry 🍒.

Schierstein Harbor

Highlight • Lake

The Schiersteiner harbor and the adjacent Rhine meadows with walk-in dam, bird and water protection area are perfect for walking. In the harbor itself there are two ice cream parlors on the city side and several restaurants, including one on a boat. On the opposite side there is another restaurant. The port can be completely circumnavigated, as the exit to the Rhine can be crossed on a pretty bridge with a beautiful view (suitable for cyclists).

The stork is back. One of the most beautiful success stories is being told on the Rhine, where the country's largest colony has grown. Wide paths provide good views of nests and habitats. The buildings and 'Blutlinde' trees in Frauenstein are also worth seeing.

The Nürnberger Hof, with its beautiful terrace and fantastic view, invites you to take a break.

The weather forecast predicted 🌞 but ☁️ were our companions. Fresh temperatures scared the flowers a bit so that the tour was more reminiscent of winter. But we want to come back in the fall. Through the orchards and the viticulture it must be wonderful.

Still half asleep, it was 8:30 a.m., when I remembered @ClaRi's invitation to today's Wanderlosen tour. So I put on my pants and off I went. I didn't make the 10 a.m. start. 🤷‍♀️
But the Wanderlosen are always so punctual.🤭 I caught up with the group at the first "cross."
