It's not because I live in Toronto but this stretch of lakefront trail is one of the nicest in urban living areas. Often you can enjoy free, open air, classical concerts. Could be busy on summer weekends. Enjoy and respect.

Coronation Park Veterans' Memorial

The Victory-Peace Monument sits at the water’s edge in Coronation Park, designed by Toronto-born artist John McEwan and unveiled on November 14, 1995, marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The two bronze arcs curve to frame a view of Lake Ontario, shaped like the bow of a ship, engraved with the words “Sacrifice” and “Hope” among maple leaves. There is a central bronze medallion that reads “1939 1945 Peace,” with the word “peace” repeated in multiple languages on the surrounding granite. It was rededicated on November 10, 2018, the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, honouring all Canadians, at home and overseas, who served their nation.

Waterfront Recreation Trail passes through Coronation Park along Remembrance Drive and is a paved, multi-use path lined with trees commemorating Canadian military service. The route stays close to Lake Ontario, with several connecting walking paths that lead to the park’s open lawns and down to the beautiful waterfront, giving it a quieter feel than the busier nearby sections along Lake Shore Boulevard. It’s an easy, flat stretch of the longer Martin Goodman Trail and is ideal for walking, running and cycling through this memorable park.
