Millstones on Curbar Edge

Highlight • Natural Monument

Some of many millstones to be found along the Peak District's gritstone edges, remnants of the area's industrial past when these huge stones were quarries and shaped here for export.

Companion Stone, Eastern Moors

Highlight • Structure

One of the Companion Stones dotted about the Eastern Moors of The Peak District. It is one of Twelve Stones placed around the Eastern Moors inscribed with poems. Google 'Companion Stones' to find out more about them and there locations.

View from Curbar Edge

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a lovely and fairly easy walk. My tip, when you reach the bog, you'll know when, don't follow the Komoot crossing point. Move 25 yards to the right to cross and that way you'll keep your feet dry.

Froggatt Edge Stone Circle

Highlight • Monument

Froggatt Edge Stone Circle (also known as Stoke Flat) is a Bronze Age monument situated a little off the footpath. The monument stretches over several metres and comprises two layers, but many of the stones are now missing or damaged. That said, the spot feels alive with ancient spiritual energy and is situated in a stunning spot.

Froggatt Edge

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Great spot to look over the valley below and take in the view. Even when the valley is full of mist it still makes a good picture.

Curbar Gap Car Park

Highlight • Parking

Decent size car park with access to some great walks along Froggatt Edge and White Edge among others but does get very busy so best to turn up early on the weekends!
