From this point you have, standing slightly elevated on a slope, an excellent overview of the ash cone of the Chinyero and its lava flows. The contrast between the green "Corona Forrestal" and the lava moonscape is particularly impressive here.

February 15, 2025,🇪🇦... einmal quer durchs Lavafeld... 🥾🪨😚😍
...this beautiful circuit around the CHINYERO 🌋 was missing from our tours this year.

So...we checked what the weather was like...and up over Chio to the Mirador de Los Poleos 😊.
...what's going on here...at 11am there are still plenty of parking spaces 😯...we were afraid that it would be packed as usual...great ☺️...parked the car and off we go.

We parked at the Mirador Los Paleos. There is parking by the side of the road a little closer but I didn't want to subject the hire car to the large step at the edge of the tarmac.
The walk is not a challenging one, but it does cross several lava fields which are a bit more challenging, especially if …
Really wonderful easy hike with great views.
Unfortunately, there is a lack of any infrastructure here. There are great hiking trails and viewpoints. But no parking spaces, no toilets, no benches to sit on for a break, let alone somewhere to eat or drink. We had to drive past many beautiful points and paths because there was no place to …

Today we did the circular walk around the volcano 🌋Chinyero in beautiful weather 🌞 and pleasant temperatures. The hike around Tenerife's youngest volcano feels like being on another planet. Pitch-black cinder cones and bright green pine forests compete with each other, a landscape that looks like part of the moon. This volcano only erupted in the last century (1909) and …

I liked the Chinyero so much (komoot.de/tour/1088046984) that I wanted to show it to my family. I did today :-)
But this time from above.

Free parking is available at the small photo stop parking area directly on the TF-38. From there, the trail leads along a path detached from the road to the loop around the Chinyero volcano (5.4 km). Those who wish can also take a detour to climb the volcano. The route consists of many well-maintained forest paths, but also sections of …

The tour around Chinyero takes us into a world of pine forests and lava fields. The interplay of green, black, and the blue sky is fascinating.

The starting point of the hike is easily accessible by car. There is a small parking lot on site. A sign warns that car windows are subject to smashing and that valuables should not be left in the car. There are also small pieces of glass from car windows lying around everywhere.
The circular trail leads around the volcano and …
