The Scenic Loop is a paved path through Cherokee Park that is open to both bikes and foot-traffic. It is next to the road a lot of the time, so you will have cars close by for a lot of the run. This is a great addition to the actual trail loop that you can also run in the park.

Louisville Extreme Park

The Louisville Extreme Park is one of the top skate parks in the country, featuring a 24-foot full pipe and a blend of street, transition, and vert skating areas. Opened in April 2002, it spans 40,000 square feet of outdoor concrete space, including a wooden vert ramp and restrooms, and is accessible 24 hours a day.
Catering to skateboarders, inline skaters, and bikers of all ages and skill levels, the park is centrally located downtown, near Waterfront Park and Slugger Field. It can be easily reached by bus, car, or by walking and biking along the RiverWalk. Designed with local input, it’s also a great place to relax and people watch!

Waterfront Park is a public riverside park that features a load of benches, picnic areas, open areas, and walking/biking paths. This is a great place to run at sunrise since there usually aren't a ton of people out yet, and the water keeps the area cool. Everything here is paved, so road running shoes are all you need.

Big Four Bridge

The Big Four Bridge, originally completed in 1895 as a railroad bridge, now connects Louisville, Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana, for pedestrians and cyclists. After closing for rail use in the sixties, the bridge reopened in 2013 with ramps for walkers and bikers. Spanning 2,525 feet, the bridge offers a two-mile roundtrip, including the ramps. It attracts an average of 1.5 million visitors annually, making it a key recreational link between the two cities. There are bike rental places close by to the bridge too.

Big Four Station Park

Big Four Station Park covers ten acres at the base of the Big 4 Bridge. It is a picturesque spot with plenty of green space, restrooms, picnic tables, paved pathways, and a bike-sharing station. It is a hub for walkers and cyclists traveling between Louisville and Indiana. There are stunning views of the Ohio River and the Louisville skyline, and the bridge is filled with lights at night, making it a popular destination in the evening. There is also a great local farmers market here on Saturdays.
