Leberg Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

This paved climb is a regular part of the Flemish Spring Classics. It is located just behind the legendary cobblestones of Haaghoek. The Leberg is 700 meters long and has an average gradient of 6.1 percent. The steepest point, with a 14 percent gradient, is in a right-hand bend at the foot of the climb. The climb connects to the final section of the Pottenberg, which is less steep but runs through fields and arable land, where the wind has a significant influence.

Steenberg Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Stiff climb with beautiful nature. Does it ...

The Steenberg is a slope in the Flemish Ardennes on the territory of Sint-Kornelis-Horebeke, between the village centers of Schorisse and Zegelsem, in the Belgian province of East Flanders.

Location Flemish Ardennes

In cycling, the slope has been included 9 times (up to and including 2006) in the Tour of Flanders 1979 → 1982, 1997, 2003 → 2006. During the climb, the Burreken nature park is visible on the right. The climb starts approximately at the foot of the Ganzenberg. The top is only 2.5 km from the top of Het Foreest.

In view of the fact that no major achievements could ever be reported on the Het Foreest - Steenberg route in the Ronde, the organization decided to scrap this part in 2007 and to immediately visit the Haaghoek and the adjacent Leberg after the Boigneberg.

The slope was situated in the 1979 Tour between Volkegemberg and the Wall, in 1980-1982 between Varentberg and Pijpketel. In 1997 it was situated between Taaienberg and Berendries. After that, it was continuously situated between Het Foreest and the Leberg in the period 2003-2006.

Chapel for Flandriens

Highlight • Religious Site

Chapel of the Tour of Flanders
On the right are the names of all the winners of the Tour of Flanders, chiseled in granite and with their country's flag next to their name. Every year the name of the new winner will also be given a place there.

On the left wall is a drawing of the Flemish cyclist, the Flandrien so to speak. Finally, on the floor are the names of our real Flandriens.

Foreest Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

This hill in Schorisse is less known, although it has been part of the Tour of Flanders four times. The climb is only 700 meters long, but the view of the beautiful nature around makes this part of the route a small highlight.

Brouwerij Roman

Highlight • Pub

roman.be
As early as 1357, a brewers' guild was established in the city. At one time, the city and its surroundings counted up to 17 breweries. Important here is, among other things, the excellent quality of the Oudenaarde water, rich in iron and calcium.

The Oudenaards bruin differs from the Oudenaards oud bruin in taste; the traditional sour taste has completely disappeared. After WWII, most Oudenaarde brewers abandoned the traditional brewing method, namely mixed fermentation, to switch to top fermentation and/or bottom fermentation. Their beers remained brown, but the sour touch is missing. The breweries continued and continue to be part of Oudenaarde's glorious beer past. The city likes to showcase its brewing tradition and therefore wants to give these beers an extra boost.

Roman Brewery is the oldest and largest of the Oudenaarde breweries. For more than 4 centuries, Mater has been home to the Roman brewing family. With their Adriaen Brouwer beers, they continue the tradition of Oudenaarde brown beer.
