The starting point was possibly chosen a little less than optimal - parking was only possible on the narrow hard shoulder - a little further west in the settlement would certainly be a better place. The signposting is great - you don't actually need the GPS because the signs are completely clear (“Alfsee Tour”). => 💪

The tour starts in the beautiful Bersenbrück, which you can reach excellently by train. You cycle southwest out of the city, continuously going slightly uphill as you climb the Ankumer Höhe. Here you can enjoy the wonderful Geest landscape before whizzing down in a refreshing descent to Alfhausen. Afterwards, you continue to the Alfsee.
