Steinbrechers Hof Holiday Village

Highlight • Settlement

There are many beautiful holiday homes that can be seen from the dike. A detour from the dike into the settlement, on one of the small paths, is worth it! A large square surrounded by old, stately oak trees gives an idea of how cozy it can be here on a warm summer evening. The Steinbrecher Hof is also notable

Dümmerlohausen Promenade

Highlight • Trail

The dike promenade is currently being renovated (as of October 2023). It looks like it's going to be nice. The sailing club has built two beautiful wooden houses there, the Dümmerheim is in the immediate vicinity, as is the Hoffann eel smokehouse with an attached restaurant. Tours of the company are also carried out here. A large parking lot is ideal for starting a tour around the Dümmer

British Yacht Club, Dümmer Lake

Highlight • Structure

How it all started...
The commander of the Osnabrück garrison "British Forces Germany", Commander John Chaloner, who was enthusiastic about water sports, established the beginnings of the "British Yacht Club" on Lake Dümmer in 1945. The end of the Second World War was only a few months over and Commander Chaloner was looking for a pastime for his soldiers that offered relaxation and employment in an environment close to nature.
Known to many British soldiers as an important landmark during World War II overflights to strategic destinations, Lake Dümmer has now taken on a very different, more peaceful meaning.
From 1945 onwards, the British gradually expanded their involvement at the Dümmer, as the clubhouse was very popular with the soldiers. At the same time, contact with the local population and the local clubs grew. Regattas were held and joint celebrations organized. Many a Dümmeraner can report long and excessive nights at Arnings Patt.

The path around the Dümmer is almost 19 kilometers. But the fool isn't directly visible everywhere.

Hunte Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The diverse Hunte River rises in the Wiehen Hills, flows through Lake Dümmer, passes through the Wildeshausen Geest Nature Park towards Oldenburg, and empties into the Weser River northwest of Bremen.

It flows through a hilly landscape shaped by the Ice Age: pine and oak forests provide shade for canoeists on the water; heathlands and sandy beaches, fields and lush meadows border the romantic river scenery. One of the most exciting ways to experience the charm of these landscapes is by canoeing.
