Winterthur Cycleways

Highlight • Cycleway

The city of Winterthur has really invested a lot in its infrastructure and one can see this immediately. Well marked cycleways which completely traverse the city from North to South and East to West. Cycleways are well marked. Even though there is some heavy traffic on some routes, the numerous radar robots keep traffic to a slow pace.

The climb leading out of Winterthur on the Regional Cycleway 43 is a major connector route between city centers of Winterthur and Zürich. The Cycleway is in excellent condition. The lower half of the Cycleway from Winterthur Eichliacher (city limit) to Kemptal is a mild 2% climb is on the road with a yellow dotted on-pavement line separating them, after Kemptal there is a complete detached cycleway which is very smooth and easy with no motor vehicle traffic.

The climb from Winterthur to Tagelswangen. The Cycleway surface is in excellent smooth condition and separated from the highway providing for an easy climb. The climb is an average of 3-4%. Staying on this route takes one directly to the Zürich City Centre.

Being in the country and still in the city. This cycleway is nicely asphalted and an easy connector route between Wallisellen and Opfikon
