Landskron Castle is a rock castle northeast of Villach, at the western foot of the Ossiacher Tauern range, on the plateau of a rocky cone that rises 135 m above the plain. Evidence of settlement dating back to around 800 BC has been found in various finds, including burial mounds, inscribed stones, and swords embedded in the castle's Crown Hall. In 878, a document mentions the donation of the property to the Bavarian monastery of Altötting.
