From the summit (1080 m) it gets difficult. On the descent, the path ends in Nirvana. Driving is no longer possible, only pushing or carrying, and that from a very narrow path and sometimes steeply downhill. Therefore recommendation: either not at all or only uphill from Cannero, or in the other direction from Cannobio until the paved road ends.
