Saint Jacques Church

Highlight • Religious Site

This church is dedicated to James the Elder (Saint-Jacques), probably the most prominent apostle and national saint of Spain (alongside Peter and Paul). The European network of the Way of St. James leads pilgrims to his grave, usually marked by the symbol of the yellow shell on a blue background. This is located in the northern Spanish town of 'Santiago de Compostella', where he rests in a magnificent basilica built in his honor.
The martyrdom (execution) of James is recorded by the evangelist Luke in the New Testament "Acts of the Apostles". The feast day of Saint James in the calendar of saints is July 25th.

Cyrano Statue

Highlight • Other

Of course, there has to be a monument to the great fictional (and film) character "Cyrano de Bergerac" in this city.

All things considered, it reminds me a bit of the little houses in Alsace.

In the footsteps of Cyrano. Small, idyllic town. Everything happened quickly. The surroundings on the Dordogne are beautiful and invite you to go hiking or 🚲 driving, but unfortunately we don't have that time anymore.
