Annenwalde Village Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The Annenwalde village church is the Protestant church of the village of Annenwalde in Brandenburg, which belongs to the town of Templin. It belongs to the Lychen parish of the Upper Havelland church district of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia.

The foundation stone was laid on April 28, 1833.[1] A plastered hall church made of bricks was built in the classicist style. The construction work was carried out by building inspector Zimmermann from Zehdenick. The building was based on plans by H. Hermanns revised by Schinkel. The tower planned in the original design was not built, however. The structure is made up of three high round-arched windows on each long side. There are large segmental arched windows in the gables. Pillars at the corners characterize the appearance of the church.
